National Museum - Phnom Penh

This year over 3.000.000 visitors with visit the great temples of Angkor. If you really want to get a great understanding of what those temples and the city of Angkor Thom as well as other places in the former Khmer Empire you have to visit the National Museum in Phnom Penh. Here you can find all the beautiful statues and stone decorations that were made for the temples. This museum is a small gem and a must see in Phnom Penh. The only other place to see these things are at Musée Guimet in Paris and in the museum in Siem Reap. The entrance fee is 3 US dollars foreigners and 500 riels for Cambodians. Its open daily from 08.00-17.00. Last entrance at 16.30. It located on Street 13 next to the Royal Palace. They also have a great small shop with nice statues and books among  other things. The garden is worth a stroll.
