Sea Elephant watching at Peninsula Valdez, Argentina

Sea Elephants, Argentina
Every year from August to April more then 20.000 Sea Elephants come to the shores of Peninsula Valdez. The males come first and when the females come the create their harems. As you can see the young males do some fighting over them. The shores are covered with these huge animals and you can walk very close to them with a local guide. The best place to visit them is at Faro Punta Delgada. There are tours from the city of Puerto Madryn and that is the best way to get the shores are 150 km away. The tour is usually a full day and on the way out you should bring the book of " The Little Prince". The lake that you pass when you get out on the peninsula can be found in the first part of that book as St Exupery used to fly over this place with his plane.
