I simply can not make a trip to Beijing without a visit to some of the over 100 modern art galleries at 798 Art Zone in the north-east part of town. Since year 2000 this has been the growing and most important place to see the art that is produced in China today. The area is often called the Soho of Beijing. Here you can spend a full day visiting galleries, do some shopping of cool things and sip a latte in the terraces of one of all the cafés. Show the Chinese writing bellow to a taxi driver! Open from 09.00-17.00 daily. 798 Art Zone Chinese: 798艺术区; pinyin: 798 Yìshùqū |
